As reported on ESPN.com, LeBron James’ agent Maverick Carter stated he will not go on a recruiting tour to different cities. The New York Knicks and the city had planned on having an A list party showing all that the cities offers. LeBron prefers to meet with teams one on one on a neutral site to talk about his future. LeBron is considered the greatest free agent in sports history. He will become available to talk with teams starting July 1 and sign with a team on July 8. The word around the league is that LeBron wants to talk basketball with teams and basketball only. The extra rewards of playing in Miami, New York, Cleveland or Chicago are not going to play a factor in his decision. Sorry Scores New York, your life time lap dance offer will not be considered. The New York officials have canceled the lavish A list party and have moved onto Plan B. Chicago and Miami on the other hand has remained silent, making moves to lure LeBron rather than parties. Who do you think is the favorite to land LeBron? July 8 is just around the corner…
When all is said and done, I really hope it is Cleveland that retains his rights.
