NFL Fantasy Players to Drop for Week 3
So earlier I mentioned some nice fantasy players that you can pick up to give your team a boost. But to pick up a player, you'll have to drop a player. We got you covered in potential players that if you have them on your roster, you can likely turn the page on them and drop them.
Jamison Crowder (25% Rostered in Yahoo Fantasy)

After last season, Crowder was a sneaky pick for late rounds or deep leagues. But Crowder has yet to see the field and you can no longer justify taking up a roster spot with him. He was listed as questionable with the groin injury, but was ruled out on the day of against the Patriots. When he's healthy, you might want to pick him up. But to add a player like Moore, Crowder is an easy cut.
Tyrell Williams (26% Rostered in Yahoo Fantasy)

Tyrell Williams was a good pick up in drafts because he was the #1 receiver for a Lions team that lost Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay in the offseason. But much like Crowder, Williams has yet to see the field due to a concussion. We thought the extra day of rest with the Monday Night game against the Packers might give him a chance to play. But Williams was held out and we wait for his season debut. He had a good year with the Chargers, so we assumed it was going to carry over in Detroit. Until Williams can get on the field, he's a safe add/drop option.
Giovani Bernard (21% Rostered in Yahoo Fantasy)

When I saw Bernard get picked up by the Bucs in the offseason, I thought he was a clear upgrade over Le'Veon Bell. Especially when you have a team that is RB by committee, Bernard is a guy in deep 12+ manager leagues that yo can add. But Leonard Fournette is taking a lot of snaps and Bernard just won't get enough touches to be effective. Fournette is surprisingly getting the looks on passing-downs where Bernard to get reps. Drop Bernard if you got him!
Tevin Coleman (19% Rostered in Yahoo Fantasy)

Tevin Coleman started the year as the starting RB for the New York Jets, but has not gained more than 24 yards in both games. Despite getting 9 carries in the first game against the Panthers, he was the 3rd RB in game two against the Patriots. Ty Johnson (12 carries) and Michael Carter (11 carries) have been more effective for the Jets and Coleman needs to be dropped.
Zack Ertz (29% Rostered in Yahoo Fantasy)

As I was drafting this year, watching Zach Ertz fall into the later rounds was a steal (luckily he was gone before I could make a move). Ertz wasn’t traded this offseason, but he's still not in a position to contribute as the Eagles are just not getting him involved. Ertz has only two targets in both of his games and has been supplanted by Dallas Goedert. Now add in the fact that he’s now on the reserve/COVID-19 list. There's no reason that Ertz is on your roster unless you’re in a league that starts two TEs and it’s larger than 12 teams.
