NFL Week 7 Survivor Pool Picks
Week 7 is here and I have survived to the next round of my Survivor Pool. I took the easy favorite in the Kansas City Chiefs and almost had a little scare. If you survived major let downs like the Bills and Chargers, then it’s time to get to work for week 7. I’ll give you my tips and my pick for the week to move on to the next round.
Teams on Bye: Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars
Running totals (based on top picks only)
Last week vs Best Picks: 2.1
Season vs Best Picks: 13-2
Trap games: 6-3
Best Picks
Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) vs. Tennessee Titans

Tennessee pulled the upset beating Buffalo Monday night, but their defense is still a major question mark for me. I think the Chiefs offense and Patrick Mahomes are trying to do too much, but I think Mahomes has a solid game. The Chiefs might want to be a hold for their next contests vs. Giants, but this is a solid value.
Philadelphia Eagles at Las Vegas Raiders (-3.0)

The Eagles are coming off a tough Thursday Night game against the Bucs, but hung in. They have extra rest and matchup against a Raiders team that put its distractions in the rearview to blitz the Broncos. I like the Raiders in this game at home, while the Raiders are usually shaky as favorites, the Eagles defense will struggle to cover the Raiders WRs. The Raiders forced four turnovers last week against the Broncos, expect more of the same.
Denver Broncos (-2.0) at Cleveland Browns

The Broncos are a solid value play this week against a banged up Browns team. Cleveland is without QB Baker Mayfield (left shoulder), RB Nick Chubb (calf) and RB Kareem Hunt (calf). Not to mention â…— of their offense line is listed as questionable. Saving the heavy favorites in favor of these sneaky plays might give you the edge in coming weeks.
Lean Picks
Atlanta Falcons (-2.5) at Miami Dolphins
The Falcons have quietly put some things together, winning 2 of their last 3 games after starting with two bad losses. Now those two wins where against the New York teams, but still you have to start somewhere. The offense has picked it up as the Falcons have finally gotten TE Kyle Pitts involved. The Dolphins are one of the major disappointments of the season so far, and have justified that claim with a defeat in London to the lowly Jaguars. The Falcons have a good shot to win this game, but the Dolphins might steal this one. Buyer beware.
San Francisco 49ers (-4.0) vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have played better as of late as QB Carson Wentz and RB Jonanthan Talyor have emerged as lead dogs on offense. The offense might be missing T.Y. Hilton, but they are playing better as they sandwiched wins against the Dolphins and Texans around a OT loss to the Ravens. The 49ers have lost 3 straight to tough teams (Packers, Seahawks, Cardinals). The 49ers defense held the high powered Cardinals offense to 17 points, but question marks at QB makes this a tough game to pick. I like the 49ers, but I’m not brave enough to put money on it.
Trap Game
New England Patriots (-7.0) vs. New York Jets
The Patriots are coming off 2 heartbreaking losses to the Cowboys and Bucs. Belichick proves he’s the master by holding down these offenses for a majority of the game. But being a full touchdown favorite and carrying an inconsistent offense always scares is a bad formula. This isn;t the same Zach Wilson that the Patriots forced into 4 INTs in Week 2. He’s playing a bit better, his weapons are getting healthy and he got their first win of the season against the Titans before their bye. I honestly expect a much closer game here as both teams might struggle to get in the endzone.
